Sir Mike Mbama Okiro, CFR, NPM, mni was appointed to the enviable position of Inspector-General of Police (IGP) on November, 2007 as the 13^th indigenous IGP of the Federation.

He mounted the mantle of leadership with extensive experiences spanning several years in management and operations of police formations.

His experiences in managing Lagos State Command and the ‘B’ department exposed him to the numerous challenges the police was confronted with in an emerging democratic Nigeria.

This informed his vision for carrying out a radical reform of the Force encapsulated in the 9 Way Test and in conformity with the President’s 7-point Agenda.

The 9 Way Test has succeeded in refocusing the Force through the development of democratic policing principles and practices.

i really want to commend your effort you've putting up so far especially on the issue of peace keeping that the Nigerian police are doing a fantastic job.
i recently came back from Abidjan and with what i saw about the nigerian police ,i was amazed with their manner and approach of professional attitude especially in handling issue at the boarder and i commend them for a job well done.

The same thing just happened to me. I was contacted about a sale item on craigslist and was told to ship to Mr. Joseph Babautunde same address and everything and that I would be paid in my pay pal account once I sent a tracking number to follow the package. Im disgusted and will not give up my fight. This man needs to be prosecuted. Im out about $800 bucks. He basically stole food from childs mouth.

Good day
It has come to my notice that the Nigeria Police Force and other security and emergency agencies do not have a means of getting quick and active information from the public in time of an emergency. In countries like egypt, brasil, canada, uk, usa and many more, they have dispartch numbers which are easy to memorise like 911, 112, 999... It is on this note that i would like to urge the new Inspector-General of Police to address this in his next confrence and also find a way of organising a meeting to discus the establishment of a dispartch unit and train staff members who would handle it. This must not be seen as an avenue for embeslment by top police and security outfits but as a means to control crime and creat more job opportunities in Nigeria. Thank you.
