Strategies to actualize the 9-way Test

            To actualize the implementation of the 9-way Test the following strategies continued to form the backbone of ‘creating a safer and more secured environment conducive for meaningful socio-economic development’ in 2008:

                     i.        Full implementation of the 9-way Test;

                    ii.        Reinforcing the philosophy, tenets and practices of Community Policing

                  iii.        Crime prevention initiatives in line with UN guidelines;

                  iv.        Establishment of six additional PMF Squadrons;

                    v.        Revitalization of criminal intelligence gathering techniques of the CIB and the pilot implementation of a National Integrated Intelligence Strategy;

                  vi.        Training and retraining of personnel;

                 vii.        Judicious utilization of police public information boxes;

                viii.        Creation of specialized units;

                  ix.        Action planning (detailed action plan on the implementation of the 9-way Test);

                    x.        Sports and games; and

                  xi.        Welfare packages.
