Police Collaborates with NTDC to regulate Hotels in Nigeria |

The Inspector-General of Police Sir Mike Mbama Okiro CFR mni, has announced the collaboration between the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigeria Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC) to enforce the later's regulatory functions on all hotels and hospitality enterprises in Nigeria. In a Joint press conference with the Director-General of NTDC, Otunba Segun Runsewe, the IGP reiterated the importance of the hospitality industry to economic development of the country and national security, henceforth all hotels and other hospitality enterprises must be registered and graded by the NTDC, the national Registration exercise is the responsibility of the NDTC as spelt out in Decree 81 of 1992 which is now an Act of the National Assembly. Moreover, all operators of hotels and other hospitality enterprises are to report prompt to the Police, every suspicious movement in their premises. They now required to give daily returns to the Nigeria Police Force of the names and particulars of their guests as well as the nationalities, purpose of visit and final desitnations of the guests.
