 The Inspector-General of Police, Ogbonna Okechukwu Onovo, OON, NPM, mni has sent a Christmas message to all Nigerians, urging them to emulate and to reflect the life of Jesus Christ in their dealings.

While thanking officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force for their sacrifice to the nation, the IGP reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to revitalize the Nigeria Police and ensure that it becomes a highly dedicated, motivated efficient and disciplined Police Force.

The IGP assured Nigerians of their safety and security in all parts of the nation during and after the Christmas and New Year celebrations as he has issued operational orders to all State Command Commissioners of Police to ensure that law and order is maintained.

The IGP however, advised Nigerians not to hoard fuel as this may pose as fire hazards, to avoid night driving and the indiscriminate use of fire crackers. The IGP further urged Nigerians to ensure they obey traffic rules, respect fellow road users and always cooperate with the police in making Nigeria a safer community at all times.
